On "Big Steam," ROGER MILLER - on vocals, guitar and bass - is joined on drums by long-time collaborator LARRY DERSCH (The Binary System), with multi-tracked French Horns by Brian Arnold. The instrumental flipside, "Dream Interpretation," adds organ to Miller's musical duties, with Dersch again on drums.
Both songs are, Miller explains, "a deliberate sonic referencing of Pink Floyd's Piper at the Gates of Dawn."
Both songs were co-produced by Roger Miller and noted Berklee College of Music professor Michael Bierylo.
It is a rare vocals- and guitar-based solo outing by Miller, who frequently records as a leader on keyboards, which he plays in Boston's Alloy Orchestra.
"Big Steam" 7" Vinyl is also available for purchase at Mission of Burma and Alloy Orchestra performances.
